  • Description:

In order to achieve your breastfeeding goals, you may choose to express your precious breast milk and store it so that it is always available when your baby needs it – even if you are away or if your partner wants to feed your little one.

It is recommended that you spend six to eight weeks establishing a regular breastfeeding pattern before you introduce a bottle. It is also a good idea to discuss all of the options with your health visitor or breastfeeding counsellor as they will be best placed to advise you as to when is the best time to introduce a bottle as this will depend on your individual situation. It is also important to feel safe in the knowledge that your baby will go back to the breast upon your return, so choosing the correct feeding bottle to avoid nipple confusion is vital.

Lansinoh’s mOmma Glass Feeding Bottle with NaturalWave® Teat has been specially designed so that your little one can enjoy your expressed breastmilk even when you’re apart. Based on more than 50 years of research, the NaturalWave® teat promotes your baby’s instinctive sucking action for natural oral development, which helps you switch easily between breast and bottle so that you can maintain your established breastfeeding patterns.

Extensive research has revealed that a baby’s sucking style is very different to an adult’s and involves three key steps. These are the initial latching on, the peristaltic tongue movement (in which your baby’s tongue moves in a wave-like motion), and swallowing. It is very important that a baby is able to perform the peristaltic tongue movement as it encourages natural oral and jaw development.

Lansinoh’s NaturalWave® teat is clinically proven to encourage this natural feeding pattern.

Why glass? Glass is the most inert material used for baby feeding bottles. There is no molecular transfer of any kind between the contents and the feeding bottle itself which makes it easier to clean and sterilise. The Lansinoh glass feeding bottle is made from a special type of material called borosilicate glass. Borosilicate glass is less dense, more resistant to thermal shock and often used in laboratories. It’s also better for the environment as it’s 100% eco-friendly and 100% recyclable.

    • Are Lansinoh® mOmma® Bottles BPA-free and BPS-free?

Yes, the Lansinoh® mOmma® bottles and NaturalWave™ Teats are both BPA and BPS free. The bottles are made of polypropylene plastic which is also chemical-free and additive-free.
    • Are Lansinoh® mOmma® Bottles & Teats dishwasher safe?

Lansinoh® mOmma® bottles and NaturalWave™ Teats can be washed in the top shelf of a dishwasher. However for longer life of the NaturalWave™ Teat, we would recommend gentle hand washing.
    • Do you only have a wide neck teat?

The NaturalWave™® Teat is a wide neck teat. It enables baby to have a wide latch similar to how a baby would latch on to the breast with a wide open mouth.
    • Can I use a teat brush to clean the teat?

You can use a teat brush to clean the NaturalWave™ Teat if necessary - it is important to be gentle and not poke the brush through the hole; it is very small and this can compromise the silicone. You can also soak teats in warm soapy water, rinse and air dry, or place in top rack of the dishwasher.
    • Can I sterilise Lansinoh® mOmma® bottles and teats in boiling water?

The Lansinoh® mOmma® Bottles and NaturalWave™ Teats can be sterilised by boiling in water for five minutes. Please be sure that there is enough water in the pan and that the different parts are floating and not touching the bottom or the sides of the pan as this could cause them to melt.
    • What makes the Lansinoh® mOmma® bottle different from other bottles?

The Lansinoh® mOmma® bottle is part of the new Lansinoh Pump-Store-Feed solution, enabling mums to express, store and feed using the same bottle. The bottle is compatible with Lansinoh’s 3 breast pumps: Manual Breast Pump, Single Electric Breast Pump and 2in1 Electric Breast Pump. For convenience, the bottle is compatible with the NaturalWave™ Teat, which was specially designed to help mums switch easily between breast and bottle with the reassurance that the baby will go back to the breast when they are back together. Mums can also use the bottle to store their breastmilk. The wide-neck bottles are especially easy to clean. They also come with the NaturalWave™ Teat which promotes the baby’s ‘wave-like’ tongue movement for natural oral development, enabling a seamless transition between breast and bottle.
    • When heating in a microwave should the top with the teat be screwed on?

We DO NOT recommend heating breastmilk or any liquid for a baby or toddler in a microwave because the microwave can create hot spots and damage breastmilk nutrients. We do NOT recommend heating the bottle in the Microwave in any form.
